of the Civil Hospital attends for half hour daily while the Examination is being Conducted.
The Colonial Surgeon is the only Medical officer.
The house used as the temporary Hospital is a very small and shabby one, having only four or five small rooms.
The numbers of patients rations issued 4834 and were in 1886, 401 and and in 1887 144 and 2014 respectively.
As I was not authorized to make special enquiries, I merely report what came casually under my notice, but I have no doubt that between £150 and £200 must cover the whole year's cost of the Hospital and Examination; thus the Establishment would appear to be kept up for the Colony, leaving over £200 a surplus of a year out of their Lordships' grant.
