that married quarters

will not be provided

a number of

for

A

Governor

The Police until

after promotion to the

rank of

Serjeant,

& I am not aware

that there is any rule specifically governing the question of providing passages for the wives of Policemen

I request you

Consider whether

it ought not

to be reasonable to

allow a Policeman,

who marries while on leave after at least five years service, and

may therefore reasonably expect promotion in due course to the rank of Serjeant, to have free passage back to the Colony for his wife,

as otherwise such a man may be practically forced to remain unmarried till his second period of leave five years later
