17. In the absence of further information to its urgency, I have to withhold my sanction from (Item 28) Shankwan Market Extension, which might probably be postponed without serious inconveniences.
The Jagger Intimation clearly stated that the proposal of the Unofficial Members was not adopted. I think it is sufficiently explained.
The levelling of the frequently congested area in this busy city is a work of obvious utility.
I am inclined to sanction the vote (Item 30) for lowering Queen's Road West, in the absence of further explanation as to the nature and extent of this proposal.
18. I am glad that Your Government adopted the recommendation of the Unofficial members of the Sanitary Board to omit the vote for a new Government Office and Law Courts - an item not being of pressing necessity.
