and I regret that I have no sufficient reason now that the salary is raised, for continuing to Major General Lador the personal allowance granted to him on the ground of the insufficiency of the emoluments in the Gaol, especially as his family appear to be residing in England and not in the Colony.
The salary of the Warden of the Gaol will also require revision, in connexion with quarters, but in this case the value of the quarters in 1875 is not given in Enclosure 11 to the despatch under acknowledgment.
