I have much pleasure in bearing
Testimony
in efficient Police duties which M. F. I. de Souza, the 2nd Clerk in this Department, performed during the absence on leave of the Foreign Inspector from May 1862 to October 1863, and I can
commend very strongly his nomination to the post in the event of a vacancy.

Mr. F. I. de Souza, having previously served in the Officer Probation, was appointed to a Clerk in December 1874. He has been thoroughly efficient in the clerking of busy duties, writing
and is a good hand at writing and being entirely trustworthy every day.
