I have the honour to bring before the notice of
His Excellency the Governor the underpaid condition of the European clerks in this Department, when compared with other Departments.

The pay of the Inspectors and other junior members of the Force has been materially increased within the last ten years, but the pay of the clerks has remained the same, although from the increase of Police Force and other causes their work has been considerably increased.
