A copy of Your Lordship's Despatch to the Governor of this Colony, on the proposed increase of salaries to Government Officers having been forwarded to me for my information, I have the honour to very respectfully request that Your Lordship will permit me to address you in reference to my case as it is affected by the Despatch.
2. I will endeavour to be as brief as the subject will permit; and I trust that I shall not unduly take up Your Lordship's time.
