In the year 1873, I was one of the Valuators under the Ordinance in force at that time and appointed Rating received $790:- or additional salary £150. per annum in respect thereof, making the gross emoluments received in 1875, $1560.- I held the office of Valuator in the years 1873/79 and 1884.

Under your Lordships despatch making of 19th June last, respecting increase of salaries of Public Officers, an increase of 20% calculated only upon my 1875 salary as 3rd Clerk in the Treasury has been given to me, but the salary attaching to the office of Valuators which I held in 1875 has been omitted from the calculation.
