Memorials have been received from several officials who are not satisfied with the adjustment of salaries made. I deal with them in the order of the Departments they appear on the Estimates. (1) Mr Madar claims an increase on the salary of Valuator in 1875 as he happened to hold that office for a year. There were two Valuators; these were entirely temporary offices, the duties being assigned one year to one officer, and another year to another.
