paid in the silver
Currency of
the Colony,
the exchange value
as against Sterling
the dollar being
from time to time variable.
If he wishes to remit
any portion of his
salary to England, he will have to do so at the market rate.
In regard to leave of absence, the payment of a salary
affecting the aforesaid arrangements specified in
the Enclosure marked B
and half salary
and leave.
On retirement,
the aforesaid is rated at the
figure stated in the Enclosed paper handed "Pension Paper 'B'" - which paper
(Code to refer).
3. A free passage to the
Colony will be
provided for the
officer,
and if married for his
wife and children
not exceeding four
persons besides himself, on
his signing an
Agreement to refund
the cost of
passages in the event
of his relinquishing the appointment
within three years
from the date of his
arrival in the
Colony.
