anything has familiarised him with the practice, and his affability and good temper have rendered him popular with barristers, solicitors and solicitors' clerks.
Mr. Hazeland's father was an English Solicitor, and was in the employ of Government. When he died he was Crown Solicitor of this Colony.
Mr. Hazeland speaks Chinese well, and had a fair knowledge of the written language, which he could soon brush up if there is need for a knowledge of Chinese characters in the Post office.
I shall be very glad to see Hazeland get the appointment which he seeks, although the Court will miss him and I should have liked to have seen him get some promotion or a promise of promotion here.
