January 1875, and
my appointment to the Civil
Service of the Colony dates from the
6th of November 1874,
I have now
completed 16 years service.
I have at various times
during this period performed
duties in this
Department.
In all these capacities it
has been
my
constant endeavor to
perform my
duties faithfully
and I trust that

Deputy Sheriff, 13th April 1877 to 13th August, 1878.
Private Secretary, 10th July, 1877 to 10th May, 1878.
Registrar of Companies, 1st January, 1879
Police Magistrate (pro tem) for 1880-1.
Coroner, 3rd of May, 1880 to 8th May 1881.
Private Secretary, 10th of December, 1881 to 18th of April, 1882.
and I am at present acting locum tenens for the Superintendent of the Botanical and Afforestation Department
6.
I would therefore express

enough to give your support to my application, and that His Excellency,
taking these circumstances into consideration, will be pleased to recommend
