In the letter Bishop Raimondi addressed to me, he alluded to the objections he had on former occasions raised to the Ordinance now in force, stating that the Marriage laws of India and the Straits Settlements were in many respects superior. I informed him that if it were desirable to introduce here, I should be happy to give his suggestions my consideration.
