Nicolle lately forwarded for my information copy of instructions which he has recently received from the Comptroller and Auditor General, and which appear to contemplate that the Local Auditor should communicate direct with the Comptroller and Auditor General on all matters connected with the Accounts of the Colony.
Thereupon I caused Mr Nicolle's attention to be drawn to Colonial Regulations No. 252, which requires that the Auditor's Reports home should be transmitted through the Governor.
