Sergeant W. Robertson, who is now on leave of absence in this country, should be requested to assist as in the engagement of these men and accompany them to the colony.
It is Lordship approves of your complying with the Governor's wishes in the same way as on previous occasions.
Mr Robertson's leave has been extended shortly, but he will be granted such further leave with half salary to enable him to go with the men, if their departure be arranged for very shortly after their selection.
I am to request you to communicate with Mr Robertson at once, and to allow him his actual travelling expenses, and 10/- a day for hotel expenses while away from home.
He should also be given full instead of half salary for the time actually spent on duty.
