In the Particulars
of office forwarded in my despatch No. 92 of the 4th of April last, asking for the appointment of these nurses,
it was stated that what was required was a Head Nurse and five nurses, and I understand that
the engagements signed by the ladies who have been selected are in accordance with those Particulars.

The Colonial Surgeon states that it would be difficult to carry out the suggestions of the Crown
Agents, contained in the letter referred to above, that the Head Nurse should be called Matron and another
Assistant Matron, inasmuch as what is required is that all the Nurses should be working
