Late Surveyor General, the Honourable J. M. Price, night and Sunday duties prevailing, and setting aside the injurious false representation of my first appointment to this Colonial service may do me, I consider my case very harsh treatment, and more especially as opportunities offer for recognizing the services of old Servants.

May I again beg your Lord Knutsford G.C.M.G., Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State, in recommending my case for reconsideration as it is clear this Lordship has been misinformed, as to my position in this department, and not possible to assign me a position at least equal in grade to the one I now hold, that I may be allowed to apply for promotions in another Colony.

I have the honour to be,
Your Lordship's
most obedient servant,
Chas. M. Mallet.
