(a) To remove the Cook houses, Coolie quarters, bath rooms, latrines and box rooms, of the Police Barracks from A to B on plan.

(b) To remove the Magistracy from C to D.

(c) To remove the Superintendent of the Gaol's quarters from B to P.

(d) To remove the quarters of the Gaol Staff from H to α.

(e) The present quarters of the Superintendent of the Gaol (E), to be utilized as Offices and Store rooms for the Gaol, and should there be any rooms to spare they might be used as lodgings for some of the Gaol officials.

The space within the rectangle HIKL, when cleared of the present buildings, would become available for the erection of a new Block to form an addition to the present Gaol.

(f) Take down the quarters occupied by the Captain Superintendent of Police and the Police Staff within the rectangle MNOP, and rebuild them, partly over the Magistracy and partly on the space at present occupied by these buildings.

4. As regards the accommodation that will be afforded by the new Gaol Block, this will of course depend on the minimum floor and air space that is considered necessary for Chinese prisoners. Having regard to the extremely limited space available for Gaol extension, it is of paramount importance, if increased accommodation is to be provided on the present site, that
