There is no doubt that this scheme would, to a certain extent, lessen the amount of space available for the out-door exercise of the Police Force; and it would prevent the quarters of the force being enlarged hereafter should such be considered necessary.
On the other hand it would, in my opinion, provide quite sufficient prison accommodation without incurring great expense in building a new gaol.
