Accountant capable of keeping in good order the general accounts of the Surveyor General's Department, including the Store Accounts.

Accordingly, I forward herewith a paper of particulars of the proposed office together (in duplicate) with a copy of a minute by the Surveyor General explaining the qualifications etc. which it is desirable the incumbent should possess.

In case Your Lordship should approve of such an appointment, provision will be made for the post in next year's estimates, and it would be very desirable for the officer selected to leave England as soon as possible after the commencement of the year.

I may mention that this matter was considered in Executive Council, and the Council concurred in the conclusions arrived at by the Committee.
