You state, and the arrangement you have proposed, His Excellency has no objection to your doing so.
In accordance with your request, His Excellency is prepared to grant you leave as a Member of the Executive Council until His Excellency receives the instructions of the Secretary of State as to whether it was intended that you should continue a Member once you had left the Colony, although you may be still, to some extent, connected with it.
His Excellency desires to express his sense of the good services you have rendered in connection with those works which have specially engaged your attention, and in regard to which your supervision will no doubt be valuable for some time to come.
