It appears to me that the Colonial Regulations do not contemplate that an officer should draw the half pay of more than two offices, but under the special circumstances and having regard to the fact of the case, I have considered the matter carefully.
regard to the fact that if Mr. Smith were required to give up the half pay of Passed Cadet, he would only receive $25 per mensem extra remuneration for performing the duties of Assistant Postmaster General, and taking into consideration moreover that he will still continue to do all the work of the Assistant-Registrar General, I have sanctioned, subject to Your Lordship's approval, his drawing the half pay of the Assistant Postmaster General in addition to the half salaries which he is already receiving.
