carry out the work proposed it will be necessary to strengthen
the staff. I have already asked for an additional Foreman,
who is already experienced and I think,
well-suited to the position
to begin Block making,
that the services of Mr Mudie, Executive Engineer,
who is serving under a 3 years' agreement, may be utilised with advantage, he is at present engaged
on the Gap Rock Lighthouse and other works. I propose to place him in charge of the Block making
and setting,
under a European supervision
