With regard
to the last paragraph of Your Lordship's
despatch I have to inform you that the following distribution of a portion of the old Staff of
the Audit Department was made
on the 12th instant, in consequence
of the withdrawal of miscellaneous
work hitherto done by the Audit
Office and its assignment to the Colonial Secretary's and Treasurer's Offices: -
Mr I. M. Silva, 1st Clerk,
Audit Office, emoluments $2640,
to be Reference Clerk in the Colonial Secretary's Office.
Mr. F. X. da Silva, 4th
Clerk Audit Office, Salary $600 to be 5th Clerk in the Treasury.
