I am at present holding the acting appointment of Colonial Treasurer from June 1888 to February 1890, and am again holding it now.
I have been twenty years in the Hongkong Civil Service, and have had no promotion since 1880 when I was appointed to be Police Magistrate.
Should your Lordship feel able to favourably consider my application I shall do my utmost to justify my appointment.
