I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of this day's date informing me that you had been appointed, with M. Nicolle, to enquire into the defalcations in the money order office at the Post Office and requesting me to attend at 2.30 pm. Under advice, I beg most respectfully to decline giving any attendance at meetings of your Committee. I cannot give any information or assistance on the subject in question in the course of your enquiry. I have now placed myself suspended from office.
