On the assumption
that these

the conditions
under which Commander
Hastings

laid a minute before the Legislative Council on the

of March requesting that
the Council would vote an
increase of salary from
$1992 to $2,640, with the understanding that
any
fees previously drawn by
the Assistant Harbour master
would accrue to the Public Revenue and to this
the Council consented.
