I saw Mr Lister yesterday upon the question of my salary, and he wishes me to tell you-
1st That the amount which appears in the Estimates was not placed there with reference to M Hooper, - who had left the service some time before - but in reference to myself.
2nd That in the original Estimates for 1890 the Assessor's Salary was stated at $2,500.
