Your Lordship will have already learned from my despatch N.131 of the 5th of May that Mr Chapman has resigned his appointment, and I have now to report that I have appointed, provisionally and subject to Your Lordship's approval, Mr James Stevenson, Inspector of Nuisances for the Kowloon District, to succeed him as Senior Wardmaster in the Civil Hospital with a salary of $840 per annum rising by annual increments of $120 per annum to $1,080, with quarters, uniform and rations.
