I have the honour to apply for an increase of the salary attached to the office of Inspector of Schools and Head of the Education Department.
2. I find that, in increasing the salary of every European officer in the Education Department, the salary of myself, as Head of the Department, has been left unaltered, and my position is now such that, whilst the officer next to me, The Hon. W. M. Deane, C. M. G., Acting Colonial Secretary.
