D. Doberek be kind enough to point out what part of work he lives.

As to charge B. I admit the book been given to me and I have read it, but when Dr. Doberek asked for it back, I missed it and believing a friend of mine who lives in the same house had taken it to read, I told S. Soberch that perhaps my friend took it and I would write to him at Macao asking for it as he was over there on that date, but afterwards as I found the book, I gave it back to Dr. Doberck.

Charge C is as well inaccurate. I took nearly two days to book, of I believe about 150 sheets and written up by myself I admit having once made a mistake and that was in March and not in February, the mistake was simply writing March instead of May, which could easily be altered without spoiling the book.

Charge D I admit that from the 10th to the 6th of March last I have done nothing, but because Dr. Doberck stopped all my work as I have stated in my previous letter, and further I absented myself on plea of sickness as stated by S. Soberch, but with the Colonial Surgeon's certificate which was sent to him.

I was walking in the streets and not lying in bed for twenty minutes as stated by Dr. Doberek. The Observatory book for the Peak which has been both ruled and used. I was purposely to see Mr. Ho To Shang, the 1st clerk about my salary on my way to the Wanchai.

Answer was then received to my salary.
