I had the honour of personally addressing Your Excellency on the 1st instant, on the question of the transfer by the Colonial Government to the Military Department, of a site for the erection of "an additional Powder Magazine", which formed the subject of letter No. 1851 of the 26th ultimo and of previous correspondence.
I am prepared to give up the site in question for the purpose of a Magazine; but I am of opinion that the whole subject of lands required by the Military Authorities in Hongkong and Kowloon, and the consideration thereof, should be taken up by His Excellency Major General Edwards, R.E., ...
