this scheme being at some future date carried out, the Colonial Government has, at the request of the Military Authorities, agreed not to alienate land between Causeway Bay and Quarry Bay comprising an area of nearly 3 square miles, and nearly 2 miles of coast line.
Application has been recently made for the purchase of a portion of the land comprised in this area for an industrial purpose, and if the Military Restriction is to be maintained for an indefinite time without any compensatory relief in other quarters the development of the Colony will be seriously affected.
