William Des Voeux and Major General Bevan Edwards, on the subject of a proposal by the former that the whole subject of the lands required by the Military Department Hongkong should be considered by a Committee on which the Colony and the War Department should be equally represented, with a view to the preparation of a complete scheme for the re-settlement of War Department property.
2. The immediate origin of the above proposal was an application by the Military Authorities for an additional powder magazine site on Kennedy Road, which formed the subject of Sir G. William Des Voeux's despatch W: 281 of the 28th August last.
