I presume it will satisfy him of your professional ability and connections in knowing from the testimonials in your own profession, that you have had much valuable experience and in very responsible positions. I have had the opportunity of visiting the works in England on which you have been engaged and have the pleasure of an acquaintance with some of the gentlemen under whom you have worked. In addition to your reference to Henry Wood Esq., a testimonial from whom I think is an assurance in your favor, I am sure Col. Mendell will appreciate.
