stands on a somewhat different footing to the other Educational Establishments in the Colony. It is the principal Government School of the Island, its Head Master and Assistant Masters are appointed from home and it needs not, to the same extent as other Educational institutions, on the part of interference the Inspector of Schools.
But on the other hand, it might not be desirable that its Head Master should be uncontrolled in regard to all the examinations which take place there. There are several scholarships for which other schools than this compete during the course of the year, examinations for these were carried on to a certain extent independently of the Head
