Are unforeseen expenditure about £1,000 was incurred in the construction of Victoria Battery owing to the slippery logged clay, a circumstance which was not anticipated and which is not common here. These are the principal services which were not provided for, but there are also some minor ones; and considerable extra expense in Transport is caused by the pivots and racers driving at long intervals so that the work can only be completed by degrees.
