Your Lordship

approve of the formation of the

new Corps, I should be obliged if you would instruct the Crown Agents to purchase 12 as described in General Edwards'

letter

of

the 16th of January, to which, as I have above

Mentioned,

the "Legislature has

agreed.

10. With regard to the points raised in the 7th paragraph of

Your Lordship's letter of the

21st of August 1888, the Attorney General reports that an amendment of the Volunteer

Ordinance

of 1882

would be necessary

to confer

on the

Governor the power to embody

the Volunteers permanently in

case of emergency.

Regulations

would also be necessary

to make

the Volunteer

subject

to the

Army Act in

case of

War.
