Kellett's Bank has been sounded rose the vicinity of the Light-ship especially on the line of the junks sunk there twelve months ago. The only inequality observable was one sounding S. W. W. (Mag.) 300 feet from the Light-ship - three feet less water being obtained.

The water found on the Bank is practically the same as in 1888 the date of the last survey.

I am of opinion that the junks have gone to pieces and the stone lading has sunk into the mud.

No silt was observable.

(Signed) W. C. H. Hastings,

Assistant Harbour Master.

Hongkong, 14th April, 1890.
