I shall address Your Lordship as soon as I am in a position to do so, on the constitution and salaries of the new Audit Department, and the mode in which it is proposed to absorb in other departments, or pension, the members of the present staff whose services will be no longer required in connection with that Department.

In the meantime I should be glad to learn what the expenses of the Audit in England are likely to amount to, as it appears not improbable that the vote of $10,000 to cover all audit expenses will not prove sufficient.
