Treasury relative to the amount of securities to be deposited by the Hongkong and Shanghai Bank in consideration of the amendment of the Hongkong Ordinances affecting the Bank, I have the honour to inform Your Lordship that in addition to the Imperial Chinese Bonds as per margin;

the Title Deeds of the Bank's premises and of the other properties marginally noted, have with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of Mr. Johnson, the Crown Solicitor, who duly investigated the Titles, — been accepted, the former by Sir G. W. Des Vaux, the latter by myself,
