But now he has detached himself from the Surveyor General's Office by being appointed "Assistant Surveyor General" whilst Brundler is in the Service and indeed acting under the Surveyor General.
He or one of the "Executive Engineers" must act as Assistant Surveyor General if necessary.
I therefore propose to call the first four officers following Brown's List - 1° 2° 3° 4° - Executive Engineers.
Two (Messrs Cleather and Tooker) have been sent to England recently.
