arrived here on the 31st of March, and sailed for Shanghai on the 4th instant.
2. As their Royal Highnesses were desirous of seeing Canton I accompanied them there on the evening of the 2nd, and after spending a day in that City we left for Hongkong the following night.
3. Previous to his departure His Royal Highness was pleased to express to me that both he and the Duchess were much gratified with the kind welcome they received from the different classes of this community, and with the many proofs of loyalty shown to the Queen by the inhabitants of this Colony.
