will be sent. Your Lordship will have learned from my despatch N°52 of 4th instant that I had already provisionally appointed Mr Mitchell-Innes to the seat in the Legislative Council vacated by Mr Deane's appointment as Acting Colonial Secretary.

When Mr Mitchell-Innes is appointed in virtue of the Warrant which Your Lordship is going to transmit, I may deem it desirable to recommend that the full complement of Official Members be made up by the appointment of another Officer.
