My Aide-de-Camp, Lieutenant the Honourable J. T. St Aubyn, accompanies me to England, and I should be glad if Your Lordship would approve of his being granted half-pay for three months from the 20th instant, the period after arrival in England being regarded as leave.
Satisfactory arrangements can be made for filling his place here, and there will be sufficient salary available for the purpose.
I should mention that Mr St Aubyn receives no Army-pay until his return to his regiment, and the year for which he came out on my staff has been shortened considerably by my compulsory abandonment of work.
