I hope that by the end of the year evidence will not be wanting of good results produced by the supervision of School attendance thus inaugurated.

The question of endeavouring by legislation to induce Chinese families to send their girl bond-servants to school, is an extremely delicate one to which I have not as yet had time to give my full consideration, but which is engaging the attention of this Government.
