Report by the Surveyor General on the subject of the Praya Reclamation Scheme, in which he advocates certain modifications in the form of construction of the sea wall.
The principal alteration consists in the substitution of blocks of concrete in the footings of the wall, for the granite masonry footings of the original design. Mr. Brown, as he explains in his Report, hopes by this means to obtain a better foundation for the masonry wall which must afterwards be built, and to accelerate the progress of the work. Should Your Lordship approve of Mr. Brown's suggestion, I should be glad if you would inform me by telegraph, in order that no time may be lost in making preliminary arrangements.
