Straits Ordinance, the trims kept/strued/strued unamended tring omitted as unnecessary.

The definition of the form quite does not seem necessary so has been omitted.

The definition of "brothel" is modified so as to fit in with the definition of "Repeal."

The whole of Ordinance No. 12 of 1888 "Brothel" and the Ordinance mentioned in Schedule repealed, the sections excepted in the Straits Kung Ordinance thing included as well as the whole of Ordinance 19 of 1889.

Part I. Offences.

This part of the draft Ordinance has been taken/adopted without change from the Hong Kong Ordinance, an/&/and better suited to the circumstances than the equivalent portion of the Straits Settlements Ordinance which has not therefore been incorporated here. The scope of the provisions of the Hong Kong Ordinance is wider for it includes not only sections dealing with the protection of women and girls detained, introduced into the Colony for purposes of prostitution, but also provides for the protection of that large class of females who are decoyed/deceived into the Colony for purposes of Emigration (vide Sections 11-12), the latter section generally being the Straits Settlements and their...
