I beg
to inform
You, that during
the period
I was in Hong Kong I had
no leave, with the exception
of two days in April and from
the 22nd of June 1887,
when I left Newfoundland,
until
my arrival in
Hong Kong on
the 5th October
1887. During this time,
I received no pay,
neither have I drawn
any for the necessary time
occupied in
journey to
and from
England.
