Judicature is Mauritius austrong; Kong.

I was called to the English Bar in 1872 after obtaining from the Council of Legal Education Exhibition in Common Law and Certificate of Honour of the First Class.

I have acted both as Puisne Judge and Attorney General in Hong Kong, the latter position I held for nearly two years.

Sir W. H. Marsh has borne testimony to the manner in which I discharged the duties of that office and Your Lordship in acknowledging receipt of the same has kindly stated that you would have much pleasure in noting such testimony.

From the various testimonials received from my superior officers and which have been forwarded to Your Lordship's predecessors, I believe I have during my long years of service secured the approbation of those under whom I have served and having faithfully discharged the duties of the several important offices which I have held, I trust I may solicit Your Lordship's kind and favourable consideration of this application.

I have the honour to be,

Your Lordship's

Most obedient servant,

S. T. R. (or possibly another name, as "Santexrays" seems to be an OCR error)
